DEALING WITH DIFFICULT PROBLEMS
The Christian journey of faith; even though predictable, is often not a smooth ride.
There are Hills and Valleys of problems as well as unpredictable situations in the way!
Faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ, is the believer's secret of ending with sweet victory.
A difficult problem is a situation that seems overwhelming physically, psychologically, financially, emotionally and materially. The plot of Annahiliation of the Nation of Judah by the Multitude of the Three Nation Armies of Moab, Ammon and Mount Seir is typical. There, it was recorded;
"And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, with fasting; and praying "O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee". 2 Chronicles 20:2-3&12
The difficult situations or problems of life have no regard for gender, age, status or history of a person to warrant pity. The young David with his adversary, king Saul proved this, when said; "Why is my lord pursuing after his servant like this? what have I done? or what evil is in my hands?..for the king of Israel is come out to seek a flea, as when one doth hunt a partridge in the mountains! 1Sam.26:19-20(emphasized)
SOURCES OF DIFFICULT SITUATIONS
To overcome a Difficult problem, a believer like David needs first to understand the source or probable cause of the situation.
Rebekah once queried, "If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD" Genesis 25:22
Thus, a self examination is necessary: could this situation be about something I did or didn't, why is this happening to me?
"Why is my lord pursuing after his servant like this? what have I done? or what evil is in my hands?... If the LORD have stirred you up against me, let him accept an offering: but if it's the children of men, cursed be they before the LORD; for they have driven me out this day from abiding in the inheritance of the LORD, saying, Go, serve other gods. Now therefore, let not my blood fall to the earth before the face of the LORD: for the king of Israel is come out to seek a flea, as when one hunts a partridge in the mountains. 1 Samuel 26:18-20
From the scripture, a difficult problem could be traced to one or more of the following.
1. GOD IS ANGRY!
Our God is a consuming fire! Deliberately Stirring up His anger, is simply inviting His wrath🔥in a manner you cannot comprehend. It is a dreadful thing to fall this way into the hands of God. No man can deliver you, unless God by His own mercy helps you out, In such situation, it is God fighting you. 2Sam.24:10-14, 2Sam.12:8-14, Exo.7:4-5.
People fight against God, when they try to resist the will of God, Touches God's anointed or stand in opposition to His way. Exo.14:24-25, Acts 5:38-39 Remember Balaam, Saul, Eli?
"Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder". Luke 20:17-18.
It is therefore a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God, avoid it at all cost! Heb.10:31
2. THE ENEMY
The enemy is anyone who finds pleasure in your pain. He prowls in unawares. A man sowed good seed in his field. But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among them and went away. But when the blade sprang up, and began to produce a crop, the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? Then from where have these tares come? ’He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this". Matt.13:24-28, Exodus 15:9
The Time is Fulfilled
An enemy is anyone filled with the seed of contempt and an unwavering hatred for you. Like Haman, the enemy's desire to destroy and annihilate the righteous far out weighs and satisfies his despiteful hearts more than any reward he gets. He is always seeking and devising means to avenge old hurts by any means necessary. Psalm 37:32-33.
Contending and getting victory over such a vicious fellow comes with great difficulties, troubles and pains.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred; Ezekiel 25:15
3. STIRRED SONS OF MEN- 1Sam.26:18-19,
For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him: But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance. We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company. Psalm 55:12-14
Through envy, jealousy, wrath and satanic manipulations, great persecutions have been stirred up by the sons of men (sons of Belial) often from among/around them to contend with the righteous, bringing great difficulties and despair. All through the ages, faithful Christians have often been victims of this wickedness, envy and betrayal.
And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh. Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams. Genesis 37:19-20

SOLUTIONS TO DIFFICULT PROBLEMS
Whatever maybe the source of the problem, the physical, material or spiritual evidences can be seen through health challenges, stagnation, near success syndrome etc bringing with it the torment of fear, hopelessness and putting us in a position that makes you helplessness and powerlessness.Considering the scripture in 1Samuel 26:18-20, the Biblical approach approach for supernatural victory over difficult problems includes:
1. OFFERINGS AND SACRIFICES - 1Samuel 26:19
Problems bow to acceptable offerings and sacrifices. An offering is something that is whole heartedly given in worship. Our most priced offering for a transgression related problem is " Genuine repentance and restitution for sins" because even the prayer of the sinner is an abomination before God! Covering sins to approach God is being unserious about seeking God.
"I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Psalm 32:5-6
Genuine repentance pacifies God's wrath🔥 thereby wiping the reproaches of sin.
In a similar manner is a sacrifice. This is an offering by Faith that Cost you or your convenience Something in exchange for a more desirable out come. There's a mysterious yet supernatural exchange that happens when a costly sacrifice is made towards a goal. This is why in the old covenant, they are tied to different things. To redeem the first son, First fruits, etc. The widow of zarephath, Hannah, Isaac and even David made a sacrifice to God to avert the consequences of his ill fated census that unleashed God's anger on his people.
Sacrifices cannot be said to be a physical bribe to God, but there's something supernatural about it, when done in faith for our deliverance. 2Sam.24:19-21,24-25, Gen.8:20-22, John 11:50
The winning wisdom
2. PRAY - James 5:13
Prayer is the first biblical response to any kind of problem, IFF salvation is in place. "Is there any among you afflicted? Let him pray"🙏. Jacob facing the greatest problem threatening his life, separated from everything and prayed, seeking deliverance from the God, who does great and marvelous things too many to count, and was heard!
Remember, only prayers made according to His will will be effective. So steer clear of Unforgiveness, sin, double mindedness and let God's spirit lead you to pray aright.Jam.5:13, Gen.32:6-11, Job 5:6-9.
3. PRAY WITH FASTING - 2Chron.20:1-6, Matt.17:14-21
Fasting with prayer is another step in the realm of prayer. It's praying with a sacrifice of physical meals, something that shakes your comfort! By the laws of the spirit, there are humbling situations that does not bow to prayers, but does to prayer with fasting. This Jesus made abundantly clear saying
"this kind, cannot but by prayer and fasting" Matt.17:21
4. JUDGEMENT- 1Samuel 26:19-25
This is called spiritual warfare. To wrestle means to take back your belonging with a fight, "call it violence if you want". This is when your rights seems to be taken. All you need is to stand up and exercise your spiritual authority in judgment for your victory. Hence, David declared
" cursed be they before the Lord"
whoever violates the laws of God in attempt to destroy me. Suffer not a witch to live! Job 5:3-5, 1Sam.26:19
5. GIVE THANKS - John 11:41-44
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Giving thanks to God is one of the greatest will of God in Christ. Thanking God is a sign of unshakable faith, confidence and assurance in God to do what He has said when we follow Him and obey His word. We thank God over the situation, though not seen, knowing that by God's love, demonstrated towards us in Christ, we're already more than a conqueror.
Give thanks by showing your gratitude to God and making great melody in your soul; it'll spring to everlasting victory. Paul and Silas got delivered by this. Jesus continually showed us this way of victory. Rom.8:28-39
6. STAND AND ACT BY FAITH- 1John 5:4, Heb.11:6-7
"For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 1 John 5:4-5
The Christian life and battles starts by faith and ends with faith in God, there's no in-between! We stand by faith and lives by faith, and if it is to die, for a Christian it is still by faith!
In handling the battles of life, you need to approach it with a balanced faith. There are words of faith and works of faith. The life of many is based on the former: nothing but confessions! Apostle James speaking says a wordy faith must be balanced by the works of faith to be effectual. In the problem, don't only focus on what the word says, but do what the word says, these are the works of faith! Heb.11:6-7 James 2:17-24,
CONCLUSION:
Not that we have power over your faith, but we are working with you for your joy, for by faith you stand. 2Cor.1:24
I see you winning, prevailing and becoming with out stress by standing up in True faith, by our lord Jesus Christ. If you will invite and make Jesus the Lord of your life from today: Simply pray this way "Lord Jesus, I believe you are the son of God, come in the flesh, who died, rose on the third day and ascended to heaven. Have mercy on me, come into my life, save me and be forever my lord and personal saviour. Thank you for saving me. Rom.10:9-10.
Therefore, submit to God, resist the devil and he shall flee from you! Amen James 4:7-8
